To organize all workers in the education sector, promote quality education, enhance the quality of life for our members and to assist in enacting fundamental changes to laws and policies to enhance the efficiency of operations in the public sector.
VISION STATEMENT
To provide teachers and other workers in the education sector with a trade union which operates with integrity and respect and to provide quality representation to members throughout the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

The Bahamas Educators, Counsellors, and Allied Workers Union is one of integrity, transparency and decency. These values embody our motto: “Doing the right thing, the right way!’ In this organization, we stand up for teachers’ rights, ensuring fair treatment and due process. In addition, BECAWU ensures fair wages, benefits, and working conditions through collective bargaining. This union is member driven and always puts its members first! BECAWU is dedicated to adhering to principles, embodying respect, humility, and dignified representation, while fostering a truly democratic environment.
